STH is a non-profit association with the purpose of assisting people with physical disabilities by providing specially trained service dogs and offering ongoing support and guidance to ensure a valuable partnership that benefits both the user and the dog.
Since 1996, we have taken pride in matching the right dogs with the right people, so that each service dog can make a tangible difference in daily life.
We train our dogs to assist with everyday tasks, provide support in social situations, and offer security both at home and in the community. All our dogs undergo a thorough training program with our instructors and dog trainers.
The success of the association is due in part to our volunteer board and a number of indispensable volunteer host families, who open their homes and hearts to a puppy for approximately 8–10 months to give the future service dog a strong foundation for its career.
In addition, private individuals, foundations, and companies contribute with grants, donations, and financial sponsorships, as well as food and equipment, all of which make it possible to train service dogs for people with physical disabilities.
Without this support and these contributions, our work would not be possible.
Below, you can watch a short video that gives a brief glimpse of what our service dogs are capable of. Please note that the video has no sound.

STH specially trains retrievers to become ADI-certified service dogs that can assist people with physical disabilities in daily life. Through 1.5–2 years of intensive training, health checks, and socialization, the dogs are prepared to perform practical tasks and provide security for their users.
